RULES AND REGULATIONS

The Farm Rules have been developed to ensure the safety of all people and animals on the property.  All rules must be followed whether alone at the farm on in the company of others.  Non-compliance will result in immediate eviction.  For the safety of everyone and their guests, unsafe behavior cannot be tolerated.  Please help support us in keeping Blue Fox Farms a safe and fun place to be!

1)      No loose horses outside of the paddocks on the property at any time, NO EXCEPTIONS.  Hand grazing is permitted.

2)      Vehicle parking is only permitted in the parking lot to the west of the New Barn.  Temporary parking for unloading is permitted, but please leave your vehicle parked in the parking lot.

3)      Please do not drive on the grass.  Anyone that drives on the lawn creating ruts or other damage will be fined $50 per incident.

4)      No hand feeding horses except for your own – NO EXCEPTIONS.  Hand feeding encourages biting.

5)      Please no standing saddle racks, loose equipment, extra buckets, supplement containers, extra feed or hay allowed in the tack rooms.  Only one saddle rack per horse and two bridle hooks per boarded horse are permitted.  Our tack rooms are crowded and everyone is entitled to an equal share of space.  If you require additional space, a standard size tack box may be placed in front of your stall for use.

6)      Absolutely no nails, screws, etc, in any barn, stall, or tack room without prior approval.

7)      All fans must be taken down when not in use in cool weather.  Any fans left on stalls during cool weather will become property of BFF.  All blankets and sheets must be removed from the blanket racks by the beginning of warm weather.  Any blankets or sheets left during the summer will become property of BFF.  Fans and blankets may not be stored in tack rooms or barns.  We STRONGLY recommend you clean you blankets and sheets before each winter season.

8)      Any damage caused by horses to stalls, aisle ways, pastures, etc other than normal wear will be replaced at the owner’s cost.

9)      If your horse breaks the cross-ties, please replace them immediately (usually some rope and a double ended snap is appropriate).

10)  Smoking is only permitted in the Pavilion.  Please dispose of EXTINGUISHED butts in the trash.

11)  Please turn the lights off in the arenas and barns if you’re the last one to leave.  Anyone leaving the lights on will be fined $50 per incident.  The lights, especially the arena lights are VERY expensive to operate.

12)  All guests must sign a liability release and all Junior riders (under age 18) must wear helmets while mounted, even if the horse is just standing.  Ask Teri for a release form and leave signed forms in the office.

13)  All celebrations with food and/ or alcoholic beverages must be held in the Pavilion.  Drinking in the barn areas is strongly discouraged.

14)  If you would like your horse’s feed or turn-out changed, please leave a note in the office, a message on the barn phone, or send Teri and email.  The guys working do not have the authority to make these changes under any circumstances.

15)  No one may use extra feed, hay or shavings without permission from Teri.  Taking additional hay, feed, or shavings without permission is stealing.

16)  Feel free to tip the guys that work here because they are very helpful!  However, please remember they are paid by BFF to do daily chores and are very busy.  Please do not ask them to help with extra tasks that will take up a lot of their time or to perform tasks that are outside of their jobs (i.e., picking your horse’s feet, grooming, etc).  If you need extra assistance, please discuss with Teri.

17)  Please do not leave chairs in the arena.  They are dangerous if left here.

18)  Please feel free to ask Teri any questions you may have.  It’s always better to ask!  However, please respect Teri’s busy schedule.  Only call Teri’s cell phone if a matter can not wait (emergencies).  Otherwise, please leave a note in the office, a message on the barn phone, or send Teri an email.  This especially applies to evenings, Sundays and Mondays!

IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY OR SUSPECTED EMERGENCY, INJURY/ ILLNESS OF HORSE OR PERSON, CALL TERI ON HER CELL IMMEDIATELY – 713-725-2920

Please help us stay safe, keep all of our horses safe and keep our costs down.

Thanks!

Teri Bludworth
